DuckDuckGo since it’s inception, has positioned itself as a “privacy” respecting alternative to Google search. Why then, are millions of internet users searching for alternative search engines to what is now being called DuckDuckGone?
Generally, users who consider the importance of “privacy”, also naturally consider the importance of free speech and censorship resistance when it comes to finding good information, for making clear decisions.
Privacy and censorship resistance go hand in hand, and since DuckDuckGo decided to position itself an arbiter of truth rather than a privacy respecting search engine, many are looking for alternative search engines.
Why was DuckDuckGone trending on Twitter?
Gabriel Weinberg, the CEO of DuckDuckGo recently disavowed the Russian invasion of Ukraine, while simultaneously claiming to be “transcending” politics through the decision to enable the censorship of Russian media.
The hypocritical political decision has left thousands of search engine users looking for alternatives, and disavowing the search engine with the hashtag #duckduckgone
To help in this effort, I have compiled a list of alternative search engines that do not (as far as I am aware) engage in political censorship.
Here are some alternatives to DuckDuckGone:

Great information to have.👍
Would you add Presearch to the list?
What a great idea. I’ll add it now.
Thanks for adding Presearch. I’m interested in buying the Pixel 7 Pro from you – your support page says I can fill out the contact form, but there is no contact form (that I can see). When I look in the shop it says the phone would be on back order – how long is it likely to be on back order before it would be shipped?
Hi Billy,
I trust you are well.
Thanks for getting in touch. I have just added the contact page to our menu, thanks for pointing this out.
Regarding the Pixel 7 Pro, you are welcome to purchase one and send it to us using the process available here: https://noiz.co.za/degoogle/process/
Otherwise, you can place the order through the store and we will order the Pixel 7 Pro.
Turn around time for back order devices is 7 to 10 working days 🙂
You’re welcome to email us at info@noiz.co.za for more information, and to get a quote if you want to send us the device.
